Sushi on the Plane
Have you ever gone on a cheap flight, bought one of their highly overpriced, horribly stale
sandwiches and whished you had saved the €5? I have, and ever since that day I make sure I bring my own food. Flying out of Dublin this is generally whatever leftovers I could find in the fridge, but when I go home from Munich my packed dinner is generally classier. This time I opted for a large sushi plate from Shoya, a small Japanese restaurant opposite the Hofbräuhaus with excellent food and a number of very nice take-out options. So if you are ever in Munich and feel the need for vinegary rice, raw fish, yakitori or a less clichéd Japanese meal, give Shoya a try. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
Especially if you are as deprived of sushi as I am and have some Arizona Ice Tea mandarin orange flavoured green tea. I had got just that a few days earlier when my mum and I were at Käfer's fine food outlet store in Taufkirchen. I really didn't think that it was going to be nice and bought it because I liked the look of the bottle, but strangely enough it turned out to be the perfect accompaniment for the Asian snack.
