Bresaola and Vintage Cheddar
When I started taking pictures of Friday's lunch,
Lofty was slightly amused and asked me if I was going to share all my sandwiches with an audience now. The answer is clearly no. I'm not going to bother you with endless descriptions of tuna salad or cheese and tomato on Tesco rolls. But when I filled a freshly baked (though unfortunately not by me) walnut ciabatta bread with Bresaola from an Italian deli in Munich, vintage cheddar and Branston pickle and served it with some baby tomatoes on the vine, I somehow felt the urge to document the result. I think that it's mostly because I was so happy to finally be back home and be able to prepare yummy meals for Lofty
. But it did help that it also looked quite nice, that I was in a good mood and that the weather was good, which inspired me to photograph everything and anything.Which is why there is also a picture of the sushi I had for lunch. Yes, they were rolls that were leftovers from the day before, but don't worry, I did not consume ageing raw fish that had not been refrigerated. I only had the bits that were cooked and had not touched and raw fish. And as I am still here to tell the story, I can now rightfully claim that a bit of omelette is not enough to finish me off.
